Anders Breivik murdered 77 people last year.
Breivik was ruled to be sane by the Olso court and sentenced to 21 years in prison. That comes out to roughly 3 months behind bars for every one of his victims. By the court declaring him sane, he will not spend his entire life behind bars.
Additionally, Norway does not have the death penalty.

His July 22 massacre was not the work of an insane person. Judge Wenche Arntzen, one of five judges, read the ruling, and it is reported that Breivik grinned when hearing his sentence. The question on everyone's mind is "When will Breivik be out?" The realistic answer is that Breivik will spend more than 21 years behind bars. Especially as the gruesome and violent details of this horrible case were revealed.
